The increase in the percentage of elderly (the population 65 years or older) developed countries is a cause for concern about levels health care services expenditures and widening long-term these countries. current debate includes issue establishing system protection dependence as new modality social protection. objective this paper to analyse evolution degree Spanish over during period between 1997 2003, estimate impact on status utilisation same period. An increasing trend prevalence well consumption has been found. A statistical association variables status, drug in-patient observed. But not significant case medical consultations. low out-patient strengthens hypothesis that presents specific necessities, oriented assistance needs rather than ambulatory services.
